EDUCATIONAL MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS LEVY
The levy bridges the gap between what the state pays and the actual operating costs associated with running the schools. Ridgefield School District receives less than 80% of total education costs from state and federal revenues.
“This replacement levy provides vital support for the district’s instructional technology initiatives, funding for our teachers and support staff, athletics and other extra-curricular activities, school safety and security, and more,” said Board President Scott Gullickson.
The 2017-2019 Educational Maintenance and Operations Levy will replace the existing levy that expired in 2016.
The levy calls for revenue collections and approximate tax rates to be:

The majority or Washington school districts are restricted to a maximum levy authorization of 28%. At approximately 24%, Ridgefield’s replacement levy would remain the third lowest in Clark County. The district’s estimated levy tax rate is expected to remain the lowest in Clark County. Actual tax rates have come in below the estimated tax rates for each year of Ridgefield’s previous levy.
“We are rightfully proud of our schools and confident they continue to deliver an excellent return on taxpayer investment,” Gullickson said.
