Ridgefield School District invites interested residents to join the district’s Safety Committee.
The primary goal of the committee is to connect parents with safety concerns by giving them opportunities to learn and dive deeper into their role in fostering safety in the schools and in the community.
For the first year, the committee will focus on monthly discussions by researching and securing experts in the following topics and will work with district staff to host and promote safety events:
- Safety features in each building and SRP training
- Bully prevention
- Raising grateful kids
- Developing community
- Social media
- Why black history is important
- Brain development
- Healthy bodies, healthy minds
- Building connections
“We are looking for members that have a heart for our community and schools, are creative, who think outside the box, enjoy doing research and event planning and want to be a part of the changes we would like to see,” said Tara Nathan, Safety Committee chair.
