October Principal Update

October 1, 2018

Dear South Ridge families,

I cannot believe it is the beginning of October already! It is definitely starting to feel like Fall is arriving. Students are settled into routines and we have had a great start to the school year!

We have a few events coming up that I want to make you aware of and invite you to participate in. The first is our Veteran's Day Assembly on November 13th. If you have a family member who is a veteran, we would love to have a photo to share during the assembly. You may email an electronic copy of your photo to emily.crawford@ridgefieldsd.org. Your assistance with this will allow us to celebrate our veteran's in a more personal way on the 13th.

I would also like to invite you to my first "Coffee, Tea, A Question or Three" on October 30th at 8:45 am. It is your opportunity to meet me and ask whatever questions you may have. If you can make it, I would love to see you!

October is Anti-Bullying Month, and you will hear about school wide activities we are doing to promote kindness and unity. Please be sure to ask your student about this as the month progresses.

Finally, just a reminder to please be safe when you are dropping off and picking up your students. We want to make sure our kiddos arrive and return to you safely, and I need your help in doing that. Please follow the directions of staff who are out in the parking lot, pay attention to signs, and please be sure you are not on your cell phone while driving through the pick up line. It is not safe to park on 199th Street, so please come into the lower parking lot. It is much less crowded now that we have fewer students and we are getting buses and cars out of the parking lot by 3:45.

Thank you so much for your continued support of South Ridge and our Roadrunners!

Sincerely,

Jill
