\r\nDear Parent/Guardian,
\r\nWe have just completed another busy month at Union Ridge Elementary School. The teachers finished another iReady assessment to measure growth; had data meetings to identify our school’s strengths and weaknesses; and worked on strategies to support students who need support. Basically, we readjusted our roadmap for success and are busy supporting students to get to the finish line (which is a year’s growth).
\r\nOur school Improvement Plan (SIP) shapes our focus and drives our professional development. Here is Union Ridge’s four School Improvement goals for the 2018-2019 school year:
\r\nDeliver an engaging and challenging K-4 math curriculum, aligned to state standards, that ensure academic success for every student.
Deliver an engaging and challenging K-4 English Language Arts curriculum, that ensures academic success for every student.
\r\n2) Implementation of a third year of Positive Behavior Intervention Systems
\r\n\t(PBIS). PBIS is a method used to identify and support desired behaviors in the
\r\n\tschool setting.
\r\n3) Develop community partnerships with the Ridgefield Public Library,
\r\nWildlife Refuge and the family Resource Center
\r\n4) Introduce an academic multi-tiered system of support (MTSS)
\r\n\tMTSS is a framework that provides targeted support to struggling students.
