Public Information Requests
The Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56) supports openness and transparency and was developed to ensure the public is kept informed of the operations of government. The Ridgefield School District is committed to providing citizens with information necessary to stay informed about its various programs and operations.
The law requires that each public records request contains a sufficient identifiable description to enable the government to locate the record being requested. The Public Records Act also lists specific records which are exempt from disclosure. These exemptions are intended to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of personal information and the use of public records for personal or commercial gain.
