Welcome Ridgefield Families!
Below you will find details regarding middle and high school athletics & activities as well as other helpful information for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.
We are very excited to continue our partnership with FinalForms, an online data management service that allows you to complete and sign athletic/activity participation forms for your student(s).
FinalForms allows you to register your student for all sports/activities at one time for the entire school year! It saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, saving you time.
You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any updates.

Specific information regarding practice times will be sent to families once your registration is complete.
Please register as early as possible to avoid last minute registration issues.

PHYSICALS:
Medical physicals are required to play sports.
They are good for 24 months and must be administered by a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Physician’s Assistant (PA), or Naturopathic Physician.
Upload the completed form to your FinalForms registration page, email it to us, or submit a hard copy to the school office.
FEES:
High School (9-12): $75 Participation Fee (per sport), yearly purchase of a $35 ASB card. Activity fees vary.
Middle School (7-8): $50 Participation Fee (per sport), yearly purchase of a $30 ASB card. Activity fees vary.
The fees may be waived if you qualify for the Federal Lunch Program and have signed the District Consent to Share form.
Fees will be assigned after tryouts and teams have been selected.
INSURANCE:
It is required that your student has medical insurance. If you would like to purchase Accident Insurance, the district contracts with Myers-Stevens & Toohey.
ADDITIONAL FORMS:
If you are a Wisdom Ridge, Running Start, Alternative Ed, Exchange Student or a Home-Based Ed student, please fill out the corresponding WIAA form. These must be submitted before eligible for competition. These links are also on the FinalForms site.
Are you new to our school, transferring from another high school, where you participated in athletics? Please complete this form (WIAA New Student Packet) and return it to the athletic office via email.
ATTENDANCE/GRADES/CODE OF CONDUCT:
Maintains a passing grade in every class.
To be eligible and ready for all activities, students are expected to:
Keep a regular attendance record and be present in class.
Attend classes on the day of, the day after, and the day before any weekend activity, game, or practice.
Be on time. If you are late for more than half of a class, it will count as an absence and you will be ineligible to practice or compete.
Stay home from practice or contests if you are absent from school due to illness.
As part of your commitment to the athletic team, we strongly encourage all athletes to provide documentation or obtain pre-approval for any excused absence that is not illness-related (including doctor appointments, court appearances, funerals, or other pre-arranged absences). This practice is essential for maintaining accountability and supporting team operations. RHS Defined Excused Absences.
Students are allowed 5 discretionary absences per year that will not be counted against their eligibility.
Avoid skipping class, practice, or activities without a valid excuse.
Follow all rules and procedures related to the RSD Attendance Policy and WIAA Handbook.
SPORTS PASSES:
Yearly sports passes are available for purchase. These passes are valid for all regular season home events at RHS and VRMS. They can be purchased at the ASB/Athletic offices after August 19th, at some of the first home events, or anytime once the school offices open for the year.
$100 Family Pass (those within the same household)
$50 Individual Pass
SCHEDULES
All in one district schedule including athletics, performing arts, ASB and activities.
Arbiter Live: Individual sport schedules/results (for other schools as well).
2A GSHL: Schedules/Scores/Rosters for all 2A GSHL high schools.
Some schedules will continue to be updated/completed so please check back frequently.

SPUDDER ORIENTATION
Orientation for all high school students is TBD for the 26-27 school year. You will be able to get help with athletic registration, pay fees/fines, purchase ASB cards and yearbooks, submit sports physicals, as well as buy sports passes on this day.
2025-2026 SCHOOL CALENDAR, 2026-2027 SCHOOL CALENDAR
2026-We will see all VRMS students back at school on August 24th. For RHS, the first day for all new students and incoming freshmen is August 24th. The first day for everyone is August 25th.
Please know that athletic secretaries will be out of the office over the summer. We will return any emails/inquiries starting mid-August.
