Ridgefield High School’s Special Education Department has received a $1,000 grant from the Mike and Jackie Schmidt Fund, a donor-advised fund administered by Impact Assets.

Jael Thompson, RHS Life Skills teacher, applied for the grant after learning of the opportunity from Tammy Angvall, a para-professional at South Ridge Elementary.  The grant money will be applied towards the purchase of a second adult adaptive therapy trike for Life Skills students.

“We have several students that benefit from the use of our one physical therapy trike, but many of them must wait their turn,” said Thompson.  “With the purchase of a second trike, more students will benefit from daily physical therapy opportunities.”
