RESEARCH

fort Vancouver Regional Library Connect Card

Digital databases are primary and secondary sources that provide verified and accurate information to students. The databases listed on the Fort Vancouver Regional Library website are reliable and many have citations already made for your students. In addition, these databases are free of questionable content often found on the internet. A FVRL connect card will be needed.

read the rainbow

Every month, students are invited to read the rainbow by reading a book covered from each color of the rainbow...6 books in total...to earn a prize! It's as simple as reading a book with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple covers. This colorful reading challenge has inspired readers at South Ridge for the last seven years.

MEET YOUR LIBRARIANS

Ms Crawford

Ms. Emily Crawford
Teacher Librarian

I have been motivating readers in Oregon and Washington as a Teacher Librarian since 2004. Some of the districts I have taught in are West Linn-Wilsonville, Centennial, Beaverton, Hockinson, and Camas. I received a MEd, B.S., and Library Endorsement from Portland State University and a Reading Endorsement from Concordia University. Along with teaching, I am the parent of five children that any parent would be proud of.

My favorite books are The Secret Garden and Jane Eyre.

Little known fact: I was a reluctant reader and pretended to know how to read until the fourth grade.

Mrs. Roth

Mrs. Dorothy Roth
Library Assistant

I have been with Ridgefield School District for 28 years, 25 of which as a Library Assistant. My husband, Doug, and I have been married 45 years. We have three children and eight grandchildren.

I love all Beverly Cleary chapter books!

My favorite picture books are The Old Woman Who Named Things by Cynthia Rylant and The Library by Sarah Stewart.

IN THE NEWS

LIBRARY POLICIES

Books and other library materials are due in two weeks.

If books are overdue, notices are given to students on their library day. We also send out notices during grading periods. There is no charge for overdue books; however, it is necessary to pay for or replace lost and damaged books. Lost book fines may be paid in the library or the school office.

RSD Libraries

The Ridgefield School District libraries’ purpose is two-fold: to instill a life-long love of reading and to create a community of critical thinkers who can efficiently use, evaluate, and produce information in order to be a contributing member of society.
