We are proud to announce that five Ridgefield High School students have been accepted into the 2021 All-Northwest Honor Group of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).\r\n

Congratulations to freshmen, Rain Begines (Soprano 1) and Kennadi Jones (Soprano 2); sophomores, Alissa Avery (Soprano 2) and Brianna Robbins (Soprano 2); and junior, Sophia Miller (Soprano 2).  All were selected as members of the 2021 NAfME All-Northwest Mixed Choir.\r\n

Although no in-person music performances by the Honor Groups will be presented this year, Bob Meek, Ridgefield High School music teacher, noted that this prestigious recognition rewards the students for their hard work and wonderful singing voices they demonstrated in their auditions.  A sight-singing proponent was included in this year’s selection process, which Meek described as “very intimidating”.  However, he was pleased to see how well the students did from their prep.\r\n

All Honor Group students will be recognized with certificates of congratulations to celebrate their efforts and job well done.  In addition, they will have an opportunity to attend online clinics planned in April by the Washington Music Educators Association, open to all students who submitted auditions.\r\n
