We appreciate your patience during drop off and pick up here at South Ridge Elementary and wanted to give you a few tips to help make the process as efficient as possible.  Please share this with everyone that might drop off or pick up your child(ren). It is important for the safety of our kids.

Traffic moves in ONE direction, counter-clockwise around the parking lot.  Please do not stop and block lanes of traffic and always use the two crosswalks to cross the lanes of traffic.

MORNING DROP OFF

There is ONE drop off lane, which is the lane closest to the curb.  Children should not be dropped off in the center lane. Parents should have their kids ready to hop out and should remain in their vehicle.  If you need to get out to gather things or get your kid(s) ready to exit, please park and do so at your leisure.  Please get in line and be patient. This lane is not for stopping for lengthy periods or for getting out of your vehicle.

AFTERNOON PICK UP

There are TWO pick up lanes.  The front section of the lanes (in front of the first crosswalk) are for Kindergartner’s and 1st graders.  If you arrive after 3:35 PM, you will need to get in line with everyone else. For their safety a  staff member will bring your child to your car.  It is also important to not park along 199th and walk through the parking lot where the buses are to get to the car pick up area. This is very dangerous as the buses are not always able to see you. Yours and your child’s safety is important to us.

You should at no time leave your vehicle unattended in the pick-up lanes.  As with drop off, please do not exit your vehicle.  If you need to exit your vehicle to get your child, please park.  Additionally, please pay attention and be ready to move forward as other vehicles move forward.  Pull as far forward as possible. This will allow additional vehicles to fill in the Kindergarten and 1st grade pick up section and leaves fewer vehicle out on the main road obstructing traffic.

We want to ensure the safety of our children and can make this flow smoothly if we all do or part.
