School portraits of Austin Brothers and Megan Vickery, Ridgefield High School's new assistant principals

The Ridgefield School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Austin Brothers and Megan Vickery as the new Assistant Principals at Ridgefield High School.

The two leaders were selected following a comprehensive hiring process that drew more than 60 applicants from across the region. Candidates participated in multiple rounds of interviews, including engagement opportunities with students and staff, before final selections were made.

Austin Brothers currently serves as Principal of Pleasant Valley Middle School in Battle Ground Public Schools. Over the course of his career, he has served as a high school social studies teacher, athletic director, dean of students, assistant principal, and principal.

Brothers is known for his student-centered leadership style and commitment to building strong connections with students, staff, and families. His leadership philosophy centers on the values of family, equity, respect, and kindness.

Megan Vickery brings more than two decades of experience in public education and currently serves as Principal of Jason Lee Middle School in Vancouver Public Schools. Her leadership approach focuses on supporting high-quality teaching and learning while cultivating school cultures where students feel connected and supported.

Vickery emphasizes the importance of relationships, instructional excellence, and creating environments where every student can grow academically and personally as core tenets of her servant leadership philosophy.

Superintendent Dr. Jenny Rodriquez said both leaders bring exceptional experience and dedication to their new roles.

Their strong instructional leadership experience, passion for serving high school students, and commitment to our shared Professional Learning Communities vision will be tremendous assets as we continue supporting our students to be career, college, and citizen-ready.”

Ridgefield High School Principal Jeremy Tortora said he is excited to add both leaders to the school’s administrative team.

“Throughout the interview process, Mr. Brothers and Ms. Vickery demonstrated the leadership qualities and student-centered mindset we value at Ridgefield High School. They are collaborative leaders who care deeply about relationships, academic excellence, and creating a positive school culture. I am excited for our staff and students to work alongside them.”

Brothers and Vickery will begin their roles at Ridgefield High School July 1st.
