The World Language/Biliteracy Test is a digital test, through Avant Assessment, that measures how proficient you are in another language other than English. By taking this test, you can earn the Seal of Biliteracy for your diploma and/or high school credit(s).
There are four areas that you will be tested in: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
The lowest score received across all four tests will determine how many credit(s) you receive. 4 credits (minimum score of 5) will receive a Seal of Biliteracy on your transcript. Scores can take up to two weeks to receive and will be sent to your counselor to discuss credits received.
1 Novice - Low - No credit
2 Novice - Mid - 1 credit
3 Novice - High - 2 credits
4 Intermediate - Low - 3 credits
5 Intermediate - Mid - 4 credits
6 Intermediate - High - 4 credits
7 Advanced - Low - 4 credits
8 Advanced - Mid - 4 credits
9 Advanced - High - 4 credits

The test takes approximately 2 hours to complete, and there is no cost to take the test.
We hold the test 3 times a year. At the high school 2 times, November and March, and at View Ridge 1 time in April.
