Earlier this week, Clark County Public Health released the new weekly COVID Activity rate, 310.54 per 100,000.  This places Clark County at the moderate level.  If the COVID Activity rate remains below 350 next week, the District plans to open in-person learning options for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  The Ridgefield School District will continue our safe and sensible phased approach, utilizing the following start dates.  \r\n

\r\n
  • 6th Grade \r\n
    • Group A students (Monday/Thursday) - Thursday, February 11\r\n
    • Group B students (Tuesday/Friday) - Friday, February 12 \r\n
  • 7th Grade \r\n
    • Group B students (Tuesday/Friday) - Tuesday, February 16\r\n
    • Group A students (Monday/Thursday) - Thursday, February 18\r\n
  • 8th Grade \r\n
    • Group B students (Tuesday/Friday) - Friday, February 19\r\n
    • Group A students (Monday/Thursday) - Monday, February 22\r\n
\r\n

Please know that the District is currently planning to implement the agreed-upon hybrid A/B schedule for 6th - 12th grade.  The District is in active negotiations with REA Union Leadership on aspects of this schedule.  There could be some adjustments in the daily schedule in the coming days.  The District is committed to updating you as soon as possible.\r\n

\r\n

Many of you may not be sure if your middle schooler is in Group A or Group B.  If you have a younger student already attending in-person, please know all AM students are Group A, and all PM students are Group B.  All family members remain in the same group.  If you do not have a younger student attending in-person, soon, you will be able to log-in to your Skyward Family Access and see your student’s group assignment. Please be patient, as our staff is working as quickly as possible to complete the data entry.    \r\n

\r\n

For our high school families, wondering when the District will provide the option for in-person learning for RHS students, please know we continue to follow state guidance provided by our public health officials.  Currently, the guidance supports high school students’ return to in-person learning once the COVID Activity rate is below 200 cases per 100,000. \r\n

\r\n

In the meantime, we continue to provide limited in-person support for small groups of students.  Next week we expand services to include small groups of 10th graders.  On February 16, we welcome 11th grade students to our limited in-person support.  \r\n
