Susan Smith

Ridgefield School District is excited to announce that Susan Smith has been hired as the new Alternative Learning Experiences (ALE) Principal at Wisdom Ridge Academy. Smith brings with her a wealth of experience in both traditional and alternative educational settings, and a deep passion for serving students and families in innovative learning environments.

Susan began her career in education as a classroom assistant before becoming a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal. Over the years, she has built a strong foundation in academic leadership across K–12, and she brings a particular expertise in Alternative Learning Environments that aligns perfectly with the mission and continued growth of Wisdom Ridge Academy. For the past five years, Susan has served as the Assistant Principal at River HomeLink in the Battle Ground Public Schools district—a school known for its unique homeschool partnership model that draws families from across Clark County.

“I am passionate about providing students with high-quality learning experiences that meet their individual needs and partnering with families who want to take a more active role in their child’s education,” Smith said. “I look forward to joining the team at Wisdom Ridge Academy and growing additional flexible pathways to academic success for students.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Susan Smith to the Ridgefield School District,” said Superintendent Dr. Jenny Rodriquez. “Her years of experience and her commitment to partnering with families make her the perfect fit to continue and expand alternative offerings at Wisdom Ridge Academy. Susan’s leadership will help ensure our students receive personalized, flexible, and high-quality educational opportunities in an innovative environment.”
